Art Basel Miami Beach 2026 opens to the public from Friday, December 4 to Sunday, December 6, at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The fair is the center of Miami Art Week, which runs November 30 to December 6 with satellite fairs, gallery shows and museum programs across the city. It draws collectors and visitors from around the world, and if you’re flying in from Europe or Latin America, a little planning goes a long way. Below: dates, hours, the fairs within walking distance of South Beach, and how to have US dollars ready before the doors open.
| Day | Access | Hours |
|---|---|---|
| Wednesday, December 2 | VIP day (invitation only) | 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. |
| Thursday, December 3 | VIP day and vernissage | 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. |
| Friday, December 4 | Public day | 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. |
| Saturday, December 5 | Public day | 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. |
| Sunday, December 6 | Public day | 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. |
The fair is at 1901 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach. Tickets are sold through the official Art Basel ticket shop and are limited, so buy early. There’s an 800-space garage on site, plus municipal and private garages and street parking around Miami Beach.
Inside, the show is organized by sectors: Galleries, Meridians, Nova, Positions, Survey, Kabinett, Magazines and Conversations. If you only have one afternoon, choose two or three sectors and use the Art Basel app to map your route.
Art Week spreads across Miami Beach, Wynwood, Downtown Miami, Coconut Grove and North Miami. Three fairs sit close to Ocean Drive and the convention center:
Our South Beach branch at 1300 Collins Ave is one block from Ocean Drive and a short walk from the Untitled tents.
Art Basel runs official guided tours with ArtNexus every day of the show. Tours are offered in English and Spanish, and German, Mandarin and Russian are available on request. Groups can have up to 6 people on VIP days and up to 12 on public days. Fair admission is not included in the tour, so buy your ticket separately.
Traffic between Miami Beach and the mainland can be slow during Art Week. Group your days by area: the convention center and the beach fairs on one day, Wynwood and Downtown on another. Between the convention center, Untitled and SCOPE, walking is an easy option.
If you haven’t booked a hotel yet, the fair’s official hotel partners are The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach and Grand Beach Hotel Miami Beach. The Ritz-Carlton sits oceanfront at the foot of Lincoln Road, close to the convention center and to the Untitled and SCOPE tents.
Cards work for tickets and most restaurants. Cash in US dollars is still worth having for the small things: tips for servers, bartenders, valet and hotel staff, or a coffee between fairs. Tipping is expected in the US, and small bills make it simple.
Two things to watch if you’re visiting from abroad:
